I went along to No Feart and I met other survivors of abuse. They were doing a course called the freedom programme. As I listened intently that day I realised I needed to be free from the torture of my Abuse from over 33 years ago and my recent experience of domestic violence.
I also needed to deal with life in a more empowering way learning how to set boundaries and stick to them which I now have. Since going to No Feart I have realised I can give my life a better future. A year and a half on I continue to recover by doing the Freedom Programme.
I now feel I have came out of the shadows of darkness torture and pain. I deal with my post traumatic stress disorder better now than I have ever done. I have been on tranquillisers and spoken to counsellors but nothing has helped me more than the support of No Feart and The Freedom Programme. I’ve never felt happier and more free in my life.
Lynn Smillie is my Angel. I’m truly blessed to know her and I now volunteer to help facilitate group meetings or discussions for other women who have took the first step in their lives to free themselves from Abuse.
No feart means there’s no excuse for abuse. No feart to have our voices heard. No feart to challenge abuse. We will stand up and fight for justice. Too many people have already lost their lives to Abuse and I am stopping the cycle to becoming one of those statistics.
